Ian was co-opted onto the Board in July 2018.

Ian Savage is managing director of media consultancy business Ian Savage Media Limited.

He was editor in chief of The Bolton News from January 2008 until May 2018 and has been a local newspaper journalist, based in the North West and mainly Bolton, for 33 years. He was formerly editor of the Bury Times newspaper and has also worked on the Manchester Evening News as a reporter. He has lived in Bolton all his life and is married with two grown up children.

Ian has been involved in supporting the hospice through The Bolton News for many years and is keen to bring his communications and PR/journalistic expertise to the Board of Trustees.

He understands the incredibly important role played by Bolton Hospice in the town and the vital service it offers.
