"I’d been out of work for a number of years following a negative experience, which left me lacking in self-confidence and extremely nervous to pursue new opportunities. However, after finding out about the different volunteering opportunities at Bolton Hospice, I decided that I would apply and give it a go.

I originally starting working in the Furniture Plus shop, and enjoyed it so much that I asked whether I could volunteer in another shop too. I now also help out the eBay team two days a week, wrapping sold items, posting out the goods, and generally helping however I can!

I am so proud of what I have achieved and feel so happy to now have a purpose. I get up each morning with a big smile on my face and look forward to helping and feeling useful."
