John's touching tribute to Bolton Hospice
Everyday is a new challenge for all of us right now, and at the hospice we were recently reminded by an incredible patient we cared for in June who sadly passed away in our care, why we do what we do, and how proud we are to be here for local people and their families when they need us most.
John wrote this wonderful poem during his time at the hospice, and we were honoured that it was also read at his funeral service.
"I’ve found a jewel in Bolton,
A place full of kindness and care,
Where staff are unique,
In trying to seek
Much comfort to patients
In there.
Their duty to health is amazing,
And giving their time there about.
The goodness I’ve found, is scattered around;
They’re angels without any doubt.
I never expected to enter
A place so modern and clean;
Where help from my pain was a total gain
And suffering rare to be seen.
A final comment on the hospice,
A credit to Bolton I say,
That good people care and treat patients there
And help in a Christian way."
