Meet the team: Wirinder Bhatiani

Each Monday across our social media we'll be introducing you to members of our hospice family, and what better way to start and to also mark this year's 'Trustees Week' than welcoming Wirinder to the team.

Wirinder Bhatiani (Chair of Quality & Standards Committee)

Wirin was co-opted onto the Board in August 2021.

Wirinder Bhatiani"I recently retired from my General Practice in Bolton after nearly 40 years serving the people of Westhoughton and Blackrod. I was elected by my GP colleagues to Chair Bolton CCG and following my retirement from General Practice, I stepped down from this role in March 2021 after 10 years. As Chair of the CCG, I was able to work extensively with key stakeholders in our town and widely in Greater Manchester. I have worked closely with Bolton Council and was joint Chair of the Bolton Health & Care Partnership. I was able to service on a number of Boards in Greater Manchester; including the Equalities Board.

I'm keen on contributing to reducing Inequalities within Bolton and in GM. We have seen these inequalities magnified during the current pandemic.

I have been a keen supporter of our hospice for many years and in my role as a local Commissioner I was able to ensure that our hospice was always appropriately supported.

I look forward to working with you all and contributing to the amazing work that's already being done for our communities.

Most people know someone who has received treatment from the hospice, and I wanted to be a part of the team so that I can use my experience and affinity with the local people of Bolton to maintain the quality of care moving forwards.”
