Donated painting fetches £825 on eBay

painting that reached £825 on eBayThe artwork, originally purchased for just over £500 by a local art enthusiast, was donated to the hospice’s charity shops after the owner decided it was time to part ways with the piece.

Spotting the potential in the painting, by artist William Gear, the hospice’s online eBay shop listed the artwork, where it quickly caught the eye of a buyer. The final sale price of £825 far exceeded expectations and will help us to continue providing specialist care and support to local families facing life-limiting illnesses.

“We are incredibly grateful to the generous donor for thinking of Bolton Hospice,” said Siobhann Mates, Online Sales Manager at Bolton Hospice. “Thanks to their kindness and the support of our eBay buyers, we have raised a substantial amount of money to help us continue providing care and support to patients and their families.

“We are always grateful for donations of good quality items and encourage our local community to consider donating their unwanted treasures to the hospice. Our eBay shop really is a fantastic resource for raising vital funds, but we couldn’t do it without the generous donations we receive.”

Our eBay shop is a fantastic way for raising funds to help us continue our vital support for the local community.  We are an independent charity funded by the help and support of the people of Bolton. To continue providing free care and support we need to raise £5 million a year through donations, fundraising and gifts in wills.
