The artwork, originally purchased for just over £500 by a local art enthusiast, was donated to the hospice’s charity shops after the owner decided it was time to part ways with the piece.

Spotting the potential in the painting, by artist William Gear, the hospice’s online eBay shop listed the artwork, where it quickly caught the eye of a buyer. The final sale price of £825 far exceeded expectations and will help us to continue providing specialist care and support to local families facing life-limiting illnesses.
