Collections and Delivery Operative
Are you looking for a varied role? Would you like to work for a local charity supporting the people of Bolton.
£20,878-£21,958 per annum
37.5 hours per week
(covering a 6 day collection/delivery operation including weekends on a rota basis)
The Role
Bolton Hospice provides specialist care and support for the local people of Bolton with terminal or life limiting illnesses and their families, in the hospice, at our wellbeing hub and at home. We are an independent charity and all of our services are free. Our retail network of 10 stores, a café and an online store all support this by selling donated goods.
We’re recruiting for a new driver team to join our organisation and help support our retail operation with the efficient collection and delivery of large donated furniture items. You’ll also be involved in moving stock between our retail network of stores and occasionally supporting the smooth running of our Furniture Plus store.
What you need:
You will deliver and maintain a high level of customer service, you will have excellent driving standards and you will be a public facing ambassador of our charity.
In this role you will be working alongside a colleague collecting items of often large furniture directly from donor’s homes and transporting back to our Furniture Store for selling. You will also deliver furniture to customers’ homes occasionally that have been purchased from our store. Teamwork and good communication skills are essential. You will be able to work effectively under pressure whilst also supporting a diverse group of people. This role does include daily heavy lifting of furniture items and white goods so please bear this in mind when applying.
It is essential you have a full clean driving licence and have experience driving a Luton van or similar.
To comply with the terms of our vehicle insurance, all drivers must be 25 years of age or above.
