Collection and Delivery Operative
Are you looking for a varied role? Would you like to work for a local charity supporting the people of Bolton?
The Role
Bolton Hospice provides specialist care and support for the local people of Bolton with terminal or life limiting illnesses and their families, in the hospice, at our wellbeing hub and at home. We are an independent charity and all of our services are free. Our retail network of 10 stores, a café and an online store all support this by selling donated goods.
We’re recruiting for a new driver to join our organisation and help support our retail operation with the efficient collection and delivery of large donated furniture items. You’ll also be involved in moving stock between our retail network of stores and occasionally supporting the smooth running of our retail operation.
What you need:
Alongside the essential criteria of a clean driving licence, excellent driving skills and experience driving a Luton van or similar, this role will require a number of other skills.
The role will be a mixture of the delivering and collection between our network of retail shops and the collection and delivery of items at customers homes, you will be an ambassador for our charity and as such will need to be able to deliver a high level of customer service and care.
As well as being able to work alone, you will also be working within a team of operatives and alongside a number of volunteers so good communication skills are essential and you will be able to work under pressure to meet delivery deadlines.
This role does include daily heavy lifting of large item and white goods so please bear this in mind when applying.
To comply with the terms of our vehicle insurance, all drivers must be 25 years of age or above.
