Band 2 Clinical Support Nurse - Hospice at Home


We are looking for flexible and motivated Clinical Support Nurses to work in our Hospice@Home team.  The Hospice@Home service is one of the core services provided by Bolton Hospice. The service is expanding to provide an evening service, to fully meet the needs of palliative care patients with any life limiting illness who choose to be cared for and die at home. The service aims to be flexible and responsive to the needs of patients, families and carers and works collaboratively with District Nurses, GPs and Specialist Palliative Care nurses.  This role will be a challenging and rewarding opportunity for anyone wishing to develop skills and knowledge within specialist palliative and end of life care.

£18,005 - £19,337 per annum

 (Plus unsocial hours enhancements)

Full Time 37.5 hours per week

(part time considered, minimum 30 hours per week)

The role covers a 7 day service and will include evenings/weekends/Bank Holidays.

Whilst this role is for the Hospice@Home service, in exceptional circumstances rotation to another hospice service may be required and those services can be operating a 24 hour/7 day a week service.

The Role

The Clinical Support Nurses will work without direct supervision within the bounds of the Clinical Support Nurse role and be responsible for undertaking a broad range of duties relating to their care as directed by the Service Lead/Registered Nurses.  This will include some working alone in patients’ homes and staff will be responsible for the provision of their individual care and other duties as requested by the service.  Working as part of the wider multi-disciplinary team, you will support and assist the qualified nursing staff in providing person-centred care to patients with complex clinical needs.  This will include nursing assistance as well as clerical, computer and ancillary duties.  Our staff strive to provide the highest quality of service for our patients and their families and carers, through a collaborative team approach. What you need:

To apply, you must have experience within a health care setting and hold a minimum of NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Care.  We are looking for someone compassionate, caring, with excellent communication skills and be able to work as part of a team and without direct supervision within the bounds of the Clinical Support Nurse role. You will have access to a range of training and development opportunities and be welcomed as a valued member of an experienced and supportive team.  It is essential that the post holder has a full driving licence and access to their own vehicle, which must be insured for business use.
