Our ten charity shops, located all across the Borough of Bolton, aim to provide a regular and sustainable source of income that supports the work of Bolton Hospice.  Each shop helps us generate the vital income we need to provide expert care and support for local people and their families when they need it most.

To supplement our permanent team and help with peaks and troughs, we have a team of ‘bank staff’ who provide cover for planned and unplanned shortfalls in staffing, covering vacancies and staff absences.  We are now seeking to recruit experienced and enthusiastic bank Shop Supervisors to provide operational cover across our charity shops as and when required.

£9.20 per hour

The Role

This is a hands on role, working alongside volunteers in a busy environment to support the effective operation of our charity shops during periods of staff leave, absences and during busy periods.  The role will involve dealing with donations coming into the shop, processing and promoting gift aid and supporting volunteers to consistently maintain high standards across the shops in relation to stock rotation, pricing, customer service and health and safety.  The Supervisor will assist in creating a positive and supportive environment for our volunteers, ensuring everyone is working towards the ultimate objective of raising funds for Bolton Hospice.

What you need:

We are looking for someone with excellent customer service and communication skills, with an ability to work flexibly and sometimes at short notice.  Experience of working within a retail environment and dealing with the public is required.  Experience of supervising others and/or working with volunteers would be an advantage.
