Virtual Bolton Marathon success for Natalie

Natalie Hitchen successfuly completed the virtual Bolton Marathon last weekend, raising an incredible £1,081 for the Bolton Hospice!

Organisers of the marathon had hoped the event could take place as originally planned this year, after being cancelled due to the pandemic in 2020; but it was decided earlier in the year that a ‘virtual’ marathon would go ahead instead, with runners still completing the actual course around Bolton (which is a true test of any runners ability!)

Natalie shared:

“It was tough but also very rewarding, as it’s such an achievement – it’s not a basic marathon as it’s very hilly, but it has got good recovery parts down the hills! With the pandemic this past year all charities are struggling with funds, so I'm raising funds for Bolton Hospice as they do a lot of great stuff for people suffering and end of life, and also for their families.”
