Band 5 Senior Staff Nurse (Nights)
Bolton Hospice’s consultant-led team of doctors, nurses and other professional staff provide expert care and support for local people with terminal or life-limiting illnesses and their families, in the hospice and at home. We not only take care of patients' physical needs, we consider their emotional, spiritual and social needs too. And we support families and close friends, both during illness and in bereavement.
We are currently seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and highly motivated Registered Nurse and to work within the Inpatient Unit at Bolton Hospice. This will be a challenging and rewarding opportunity for anyone wishing to further develop their nursing skills and knowledge within specialist palliative care.
Basic salary £29,011 per annum (WTE £31,534)
(Top Band 5, unsocial hours enhancements paid in addition to basic salary)
3 x Nights Shifts, 34.5 hours per week
The role covers a 7 day service and will therefore include weekends. Occasional rotation to day shifts will be expected to ensure essential skills are maintained.
The Role
Working as part of the wider multi-disciplinary team, you will support patients with complex clinical needs and provide hands-on, person-centred care. Our staff strive to provide the highest quality of service for our patients and their families and carers, through a collaborative team approach. As Senior Staff Nurse, you will be responsible for advising and supporting staff, therefore you will need to able to demonstrate a high level of competence in the specialty.
What you need:
To apply, you must be a Registered General Nurse, who is enthusiastic and flexible with a passion for specialist palliative and end of life care. Significant experience of multi-professional working within palliative care, excellent communication skills and clinical credibility within the specialty are all essential. You will have access to a range of training and development opportunities and be welcomed as a valued member of an experienced and supportive team. It is expected that, from 1st April 2022, it will be a legal requirements for frontline staff in CQC regulated healthcare settings to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Therefore full vaccination status is required for this post (unless a medical exemption applies).
