Our 30 Year History
The very first patients were admitted to Bolton Hospice in March 1992, and we have been dedicated to caring for thousands of local families ever since. It's an honour and a privilege to care for our community, and we are proud to be such an integral part of our town.
Key developments of the hospice can be seen in our timeline, which has always been accompanied by the generous and unwavering support from our community, helping the hospice grow and develop so that we can help even more people.
We strive to provide the very best hospice care and will continue to work together with our community to ensure our services meet the demand for specialist palliative and end of life care in Bolton. We are here for everyone in Bolton who needs us, now and in the future.

Our Services in 2022
Inpatient Care
Bolton Hospice has 16 private en-suite rooms for those who may need care within the hospice. Our accommodation is comfortable and homely, and every room has direct access to our beautiful garden of tranquility.
The Wellbeing Hub
The Wellbeing Hub is a relaxed space that offers a flexible, drop-in support service with access to specialist services such as symptom management, outpatient clinics, and wellbeing sessions.
Training and education
You will find a selection of learning opportunities that address many aspects of clinical, communication and end of life care topics.

Eternal Roses
As part of our 30th anniversary celebrations, we have commissioned a limited number of colourful hand-forged roses, which supporters can purchase in memory of a loved one, as a meaningful gift or simply to brighten up a corner of your home or outside space.

March 1992 marked the opening of the doors of Bolton Hospice and the very first patients cared for, and now in 2022 we celebrate 30 years; our pearl anniversary, 30 years of caring from the heart and providing a generation of care to our community.
