HR Manager


Our team of doctors, nurses and other professional staff provide expert care and support for local people with terminal or life-limiting illnesses and their families, in the hospice and at home. We not only take care of patients' physical needs, we consider their emotional, spiritual and social needs too; and we support families and close friends, both during illness and in bereavement.

Here at Bolton Hospice we have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and focused HR Manager to join our HR team, to provide high quality HR Services to our management teams and employees at the hospice. The role provides the opportunity to support and work on various People and HR related projects and provide support and guidance at all levels, while introducing new initiatives in line with a strong people strategy as part of a caring hospice team.

Salary £33,706 - £36,353 per annum

 

Full Time 37.5 hours Monday to Friday

 

The Role

The HR Manager will lead on and deliver a high quality, comprehensive human resources service to improve workforce experience and provide effective support and development for management teams, as well as professional advice on employment matters. The successful candidate will work closely with the senior management group and management team leaders, providing an expert and responsive service across a range of strategic and operational workforce issues. This includes the preservation of effective HR practices, ensuring that the hospice manages risk, is compliant with the appropriate legislation/standards and treats all staff fairly. The HR Manager will work with the senior management group to ensure a co-ordinated approach to workforce planning, aligned to the hospice strategy and vision.

What you need:

The successful candidate will have substantial leadership experience working in a HR generalist role and be able to build positive relationships with staff at all levels, dealing with issues sensitively and confidentially. Demonstrable experience of working on both operational and strategic HR issues, experience of strategy and policy formation, implementation and monitoring. Excellent communication skills and strong IT and organisational skills are essential to the role.  The successful candidate will have an excellent understanding of HR policies and procedures, excellent knowledge of employment law and best practice and have significant experience of handling employment related issues within a generalist HR role.
