Catering Lead


We are currently seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and proactive Catering Lead to offer flexibility to the catering department. As a Catering Lead you will support and assist the Cook Supervisor, provide high quality, cost effective and safe services to patients’ staff and visitors.

Band - Ancillary 2 £11,936

(WTE £23,872, cost of living increase pending)

Part Time, 20 hrs per week

(Monday to Thursday)

The Role

The post holder will need a varied background in catering preferably with café experience.

You would be responsible for working with and advising the experienced team members in the daily requirements for the pre prepared food sales ensuring a good variety each week.

As a Catering Lead, you will also have the skills to cook foods either for the daily menus or be able to cover for the Cook Supervisor. You would also work as part of the team carrying out all duties as expected in a catering department; to ensure that high quality cleaning regimes are adhered to, and stock is always kept safe, stored appropriately, and rotated securely. The Catering Lead will act as a role model to members of the Catering team always offering support to other staff.

What you need:

We are looking for someone with experience in a similar role, who is flexible to meet the needs of the customers and the team. As a Catering Lead, you will produce a variety of menus for our patients as well as visitors and staff, therefore care home experience and a good understanding of the customer base would be advantageous. You will need to have Food Safety Level 2 and can use a computer or be willing to partake in the training required.
