Corporate Services Manager
Our team of doctors, nurses and other professional staff provide expert care and support for local people with terminal or life-limiting illnesses and their families, in the hospice and at home. We not only take care of patients' physical needs, we consider their emotional, spiritual and social needs too, and we support families and close friends, both during illness and in bereavement.
Here at Bolton Hospice we have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and highly organised Corporate Services Manager, with strong IT skills, to join our team to organise, plan, direct and coordinate the key back office and support functions of the hospice.
We are looking for a leader with significant experience in managing and developing a team. You will be an excellent communicator and relationship builder, able to influence others and be highly organised with the ability to manage multiple projects.
Together with project managing specific build or refurbishment projects the Corporate Services Manager will need to demonstrate a strong commitment to the hospice’s values - compassion, respect, professionalism, excellence, inclusivity and collaboration.
This key role is responsible for ensuring there is effective line management of team members and create, review and communicate specific organisational policies and procedures.

Salary £33,706- £36,353 per annum
Full Time 37.5 hours Monday to Friday
The Role
The successful post holder will develop and support team leaders, within the department, to ensure continuity of services which includes provision of HR, Data & IT, senior leadership administrative support and the clinical administrative services. The role holder will chair the Health & Safety Committee, supporting the senior lead in delivering health and fire safety, co-ordinate the reporting and recording of health & safety compliance, in conjunction with others, along with overseeing the ongoing development and reliable provision of our informatics and communication systems.
The successful post holder will work closely with the Corporate Services Director in managing the Hospice Estate, including all maintenance, refurbishments, new build projects and participate in key working groups. As a Corporate Services Manager, you will also have the responsibility of ensuring there is good communication between your teams and provide effective line management across the whole team.
This role is critical in ensuring the appropriate maintenance and security of organisational registers, along with facilitating the delivery of face to face fire training to all staff in conjunction with others.
What you need:
The successful candidate will have substantial experience of service delivery within a Corporate Services function, possessing a recognised Leadership / Management qualification, Health and Safety qualification and significant demonstrable knowledge and capability. You will also need to have a minimum of 5 GCSE’s including Maths and English, with a further education / degree level qualification desirable. You will need to demonstrate outstanding communication and written skills, along with excellent organisational and leadership competency, skills and behaviours.
As a Corporate Services Manager you will be passionate and understanding about the needs of people and be able to communicate at all levels and across many different stakeholders. To be successful in this role you will need strong IT skills and knowledge, confidence and competence in contributing to organisational strategy and workforce plans.
