Data & IT Systems Administrator
Our team of doctors, nurses and other professional staff provide expert care and support for local people with terminal or life-limiting illnesses and their families, in the hospice and at home. We not only take care of patients' physical needs, we consider their emotional, spiritual and social needs too, and we support families and close friends, both during illness and in bereavement.
Here at Bolton Hospice we have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and focused Data & IT Administrator to join our team, to lead and manage the IT and Data services and support the hospice, working in conjunction with our Third Party IT supplier in ensuring a seamless service each day. Together with leading and implementing new projects and programmes, the post holder will be working across the various departments and teams.
This key role is also accountable and responsible for the provision of quality and robust data, statistics and analytical information, required for both internal and external reporting. This is a great opportunity to make a difference, leading and delivering the various IT and Data related workstreams, supporting the hospice Digital, Data and Technology strategy.
Salary £27,055- £29,639 per annum
Full Time 37.5 hours Monday to Friday
The Role
The Data and IT Administrator will support a multi user computing and IT service, across the various departments and teams, managing and overseeing the smooth running of all operations and programmes, including bespoke services and applications, together with the electronic records for both patients and staff. The post holder is the primary contact for the Hospice Third Party supplier, and is responsible for the day to day resolution of IT hardware and software issues.
The post holder is critical to ensuring a successful annual Data Security and Protection Toolkit submission of ‘Standards Met’, as a minimum, ensuring the required IT Security and Data Protection is in place across all systems, that quality training has been undertaken and ongoing compliance with the Data Protection Act 2018 and UK GDPR.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Corporate Services Manager, Quality and Governance Lead and Services Leads / Line Managers across the Hospice, together with being a point of contact for staff and volunteers, providing an expert and responsive service across the IT and Data Management discipline. This includes the safe using of systems, together with maintaining security protocols for storage of information and destruction of hardware, software and confidential waste.
The role is an Information Asset Owner for the Hospice, together with members of the leadership team, and the maintenance of Data Flow Maps and preparation of Data Protection Impact Assessments is a further responsibility. It is an exciting time for the Hospice as we look forward to the future IT and Data needs, as we care for our patients and those most important to them really well, and the successful candidate will enjoy leading, supporting and delivering workstreams to support the overall Digital, Data and Technology Strategy.
What you need:
The successful candidate will have substantial IT skills, knowledge and experience working as a Data and IT Administrator, and be able to build positive relationships with staff and volunteers at all levels, handling opportunities and challenges on a day to day basis. Demonstrable experience of working on both IT technical hardware and software projects and programmes, together with managing data and preparing reports, statistics, analysis and presentation packs is essential to the role. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and organisational skills and enjoy working within a team environment.
