Fundraising Assistant
6 month fixed term contract
Are you looking for an opportunity to make a difference at a well-loved local charity?
An exciting opportunity has arisen to fundraise for a great cause. Bolton Hospice needs to raise £4 million a year to provide specialist care and support for local people and their families, and has an exciting entry-level vacancy in its successful fundraising team, initially on a temporary basis.
£21,730 - £23,177 (pro rata)
20 to 30 hours per week, worked over 4 or 5 days
(contracted hours and days to suit successful candidate)
The Role:
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic new Fundraising Assistant to provide support for a range of fundraising activities and provide support to individuals, groups and companies who fundraise on our behalf.
You will assist in the planning and coordination of a number of fundraising initiatives and act as the first point of contact for supporters who need information, guidance and resources to support their fundraising.
You will support the Fundraising Manager and work alongside the wider team of staff and volunteers to maximize participation in fundraising activities, ensuring that they are effectively administered and that supporters always receive a high quality experience.
What you need:
This is an entry-level role so you don’t need any previous experience of fundraising, but will need to have some previous experience of dealing with the public. You will need to be a people person – comfortable in interacting with our supporters via email, over the phone and face to face. You’ll also need to have good organisational skills, and be a team player. We expect all team members to share the hospice’s values and be passionate about what our charity does.
Why Bolton Hospice?
Because our purpose is caring for all our patients and those most important to them really well, together with creating a great place to work for all our people.
You can choose your contracted hours (between a minimum of 20 and maximum of 30 over 4 or 5 days) and will be working within a friendly and supportive team. We’ll provide all the training you need to succeed in your role and beyond.
We offer our employees an attractive benefits package, including 35 days annual leave including bank holidays, rising to 40 days with long service (pro rata for part-time), generous enhanced maternity package, contributory pension scheme, life assurance, free parking, healthcare cash plan, subsidised meals, option to apply for Blue Light Card and excellent training opportunities. We also offer continuity of service from the NHS with respect to pension and holiday allowance.
