Ward & Medical Administrator


Our team of doctors, nurses and other professional staff provide expert care and support for local people with terminal or life-limiting illnesses and their families, in the hospice and at home. We not only take care of patients' physical needs, we consider their emotional, spiritual and social needs too. And we support families and close friends, both during illness and in bereavement.

We are currently seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and professional Ward & Medical Administrator to work within Bolton Hospice, providing effective administrative support to our medical and clinical teams within the new Wellbeing Hub and the Inpatient Unit.  This is a rewarding opportunity for an experienced administrator to be part of our team.

£19,737 - £21,142 per annum pro rata

(Actual salary £15,790 - £16,913 per annum)

30 hours over 4 or 5 days per week

The Role

This is a vital role, as the post holder will support the medical team, clinical team and the Wellbeing Hub Service Lead with the associated administration work.  This will include collecting and recording data associated with the referral, admission, discharge and attendance at Outpatient clinics, drop-in activities and the care of patients within Hospice at Home.  You will also deal with telephone enquiries and liaise professionally and sensitively with GPs, hospitals, healthcare professionals, patients and their relatives.

The successful candidate will work 30 hours per week.  The working pattern can be discussed at interview, however we would need the post holder to work a minimum of 4 days per week.
